Welcome to Clifton Lodge School
Everything we do is geared around helping your child to be their best.
We are Clifton Lodge, a small prep school based in Ealing, caring for children aged 3 to 11 years old. we use the word small on purpose – we see 'small' as our biggest advantage; our size allows us to provide an environment which makes our children feel safe, secure, comfortable and at home. We see that as being instrumental to laying great foundations for personal wellbeing, the ability to thrive, which in turn leads to achievement.
Children are taught by a team of hard working and dedicated staff who pull out all the stops to ensure each child’s needs are catered to.
But don’t just take our word for it. Take the word, instead, of the Independent Schools’ Inspectorate who visited us recently and decided to award the school their highest accolade of double “Excellent” in both the academic and personal development of the children. Take the words of our parents who have described Clifton Lodge as “kind and nurturing,” “welcoming and caring,” “the best possible learning environment” and a school which “builds confidence” and “pushes academically.”

FACILITIES & LOCATION
An environment that makes all feel welcome
Our school is located in an extended double-fronted Victorian home in Ealing, close to the centre and only 10 minutes walk from Ealing Broadway Station (Elizabeth Line, Central and District Lines). There is ample parking (payment by phone or by meter) directly across the road, opposite the school.
The school provides a wonderful range of facilities to enhance pupils’ learning. Our classrooms are bright and fully equipped, including a science lab and art studio.
A large playground with a canopied area gives pupils much needed space for play, events, assemblies and PE. In addition we are sited opposite Walpole Park which we regularly use for outdoor learning.

To conclude British Science Week the children and their teachers had the chance to present their wonderful posters on the theme of ‘Change and Adapt’ at an assembly today. In addition, during the week each class was tasked with gathering height data of each pupil and presenting them in different formats. The children were really imaginative using everything from marbles to string in order to showcase their results.
A big thank you to Mr Bush for a wonderful Science Week and well done to all our pupils, your poster designs have been so inspiring.

The theme of this year`s British Science Week is `Change & Adapt`. Our Science teacher kicked off Science Week with a thrilling Chemistry experiment during Monday’s assembly. The Carbon Sugar Experiment demonstrated how molecules can change and adapt over time. The children were very engaged and asked lots of questions.

What a fantastic World Book Day the children are having. As always the costumes have been wonderful (thank you so much parents - it makes the day so exciting for all the children). Thanks to a sunny morning we held our costume parade in the playground with prizes for the best dressed. Several of the classes joined an online `footy and booky` quiz hosted by the National Literacy Trust. Afterwards we held a Swap and Read with our older year groups visiting younger classes to share stories together. During the afternoon the children participated in several activities including designing a book cover and bookmarks. Thank you for supporting Roald Dahl`s Children`s Charity with donations & the Readathon for Read for Good.

Our Year 5 class, who have been learning about “Romeo and Juliet”, thoroughly enjoyed their trip to @the_globe (Shakespeare`s Globe Theatre) . They were able to experience a tour of the outside and inside of the theatre which included learning when it was built (and rebuilt). The pupils found out what it was made from and why and why it was designed in such a way. From there the class attended a lively action workshop based on the prologue of the play. The children were wonderful representatives of both the school and their families. We are proud of their efforts and commitment to the school value Optime – they gave of their best.
Here are some quotes from children:
• Ayla: “It was an amazing experience to see the new Globe Theatre, a replica of the original. I enjoyed seeing the zodiac paintings on the roof of the stage and learning what this meant for plays.”
• Megumi: “I liked learning about the Globe Theatre and listening to our instructor. I also enjoyed the activities!”
• Blake: “My favourite part was seeing how decorated the inside of the theatre was. I was surprised by this: it looks old on the outside but is so pretty on the inside.”
• Billy: “I loved it! I think the trip is good for everyone! My favourite part was seeing and learning about the English Oak pillars on the stage.”
